This entry-level swiftwater rescue course is designed for individuals looking to gain experience in moving water. The REC-I swiftwater rescue in Moab is tailored to meet participants’ goals, guiding novice students through risk management and decision-making in swiftwater environments. This course is ideal for recreational enthusiasts with varying experience levels.
Space is limited to 16 students and will be taught by SSI lead instructor, Greg Davis. Class fills up fast, so register early!
WHO THIS IS FOR: Recreational boaters wanting to expand their knowledge on river rescue and risk management.
ONLINE COMPONENT:Yes – Optional (but highly recommended)
COURSE FORMAT: 2 day REC-I course with 2 hours of online training prior to start date. 8 hours each day of in-field training. Total class length: 18hrs.

1. Proficient swimmer
2. Physically capable
