Using the SSI 3-day swiftwater rescue course (SRT-I) as a platform and incorporating packrafts, this course teaches techniques and principals with regard to limited resources in a wilderness setting using a packraft as a rescue craft. This  course will meet the needs of professionals and private boaters who find themselves using packrafts  as a means of downriver travel or to access gear or personnel in difficult situations. This course is designed for back country rangers, U.S. border patrol, special operations teams, wilderness enthusiast and packraft aficiondos. SSI developed the packraft curriculum and trained the Denali National Park Back Country Rangers in 2012. They have received NPS clearance and now routinely take them on back country missions as a rescue craft. Please contact SSI for a custom quote and custom curriculum development based on your agencies needs and response model. Adding a fourth or fifth day to the curriculum lets us exponentially enhance our downriver travel and river expedition skills.
